How We Help

Our fund provides targeted support across several critical areas, ensuring members and their families receive timely assistance when they need it most.

Line-of-Duty Death Support

Emergency grants for immediate needs when a member is lost in the line of duty.

When an IBEW member dies as a result of workplace incidents, our fund acts quickly to provide emergency financial assistance. This support helps families cover immediate expenses such as funeral costs, outstanding bills, and short-term living expenses during an incredibly difficult time. Applications are expedited and decisions are made with compassion and urgency.

Family Assistance

Limited financial help for immediate family members determined by the Board.

Spouses, children, and other immediate family members of IBEW members may qualify for financial assistance in cases of significant hardship or loss. Our Board reviews each application individually, considering the unique circumstances and needs of the family. This assistance may cover medical expenses, essential living costs, or other urgent financial needs as determined appropriate.

Hardship Relief

Board-approved support for severe losses evaluated on a case-by-case basis.

Beyond line-of-duty deaths, the Board may approve financial assistance for other severe hardships that significantly impact IBEW members and their families. This might include catastrophic injury, natural disaster losses, or other extraordinary circumstances. Each case is evaluated on its merits, with decisions guided by the fund's mission and available resources.

Memorial & Survivor Resources

Guidance and referrals to additional support services and resources.

In addition to direct financial assistance, we help families navigate the complex landscape of survivor benefits, insurance claims, and other support services. Our team can provide guidance on IBEW resources, government programs, grief counseling services, and community support networks. We're here to help families access all the assistance available to them.
